Kaikuja Säiliöstä is a collection of site-specific immersive sound studies for brass ensemble and live electronics, written for Öljysäiliö 468, a decommissioned oil tank in East Helsinki.
The work features a brass quintet and live electronics, designed to interact with the unique acoustic properties of the space—long reverberation times and location-dependent acoustic phenomena. The piece explores the relationship between sound, architecture, and landscape, incorporating an array of recycled and DIY speakers. Audience movement within the space contributes to the sonic experience, creating a dynamic and evolving acoustic environment. The performance is structured to accompany the transition from daylight to darkness, integrating with the venue’s permanent light installation.
